1. accepting these terms

by creating an account or using play alta you agree to these terms of use. if you do not agree, do not use the service. these terms apply alongside our privacy policy, which explains how we handle your personal data.

2. what play alta is

play alta is a web app for logging sports match results and tracking player rankings. you can record scores, confirm or dispute results submitted by opponents, see where you stand on leaderboards, and copy digital stickers to your clipboard based on your stats.

play alta is not a regulated sports governing body. results you see here are user-submitted and do not carry any official standing beyond this platform.

3. eligibility

you must be at least 13 years old to use play alta. by creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement. if you are between 13 and 18, you confirm you have permission from a parent or guardian.

4. your account

• you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. do not share your account with others.
• you must provide accurate information when you create your profile. a fake or misleading name or photo is not allowed.
• one account per person. creating multiple accounts to manipulate rankings or stats is not allowed.
• you can delete your account at any time by contacting us. see the privacy policy for what happens to your data.

5. submitting match results

play alta is built on honest, self-reported results. by submitting a match you confirm that:

• the match actually took place.
• the scores you entered are accurate.
• you played against the opponent you have selected — you cannot log results against a player who was not present.

opponents are notified and must confirm results before they count toward rankings. if a result is wrong, use the dispute feature to flag it. submitting deliberately false results, or confirming results you know to be false, is a violation of these terms and may lead to account suspension.

6. acceptable use

when using play alta, you must not:

• upload content that is offensive, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights (including profile photos).
• attempt to access or tamper with another user's account or data.
• use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the service.
• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the service.
• use the service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could harm other users.

7. stickers & digital assets

play alta lets you generate digital stickers based on your in-app stats and copy them to your clipboard. these are for your personal, non-commercial use only — for example, sharing on social media or messaging apps.

all intellectual property in the stickers and any other assets generated by play alta belongs to us. you may not sell, redistribute, or modify them without our written permission.

8. intellectual property

the play alta name, logo, design, and all content created by us are our intellectual property. nothing in these terms transfers any ownership to you.

you own the content you submit (your profile info, match data). by submitting it, you grant us a licence to store and display it as part of running the service. this licence ends when you delete your account.

9. availability

we aim to keep play alta running reliably but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. we may need to take the service offline for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. we are not liable for losses caused by downtime or service interruptions.

10. disclaimers & liability

play alta is provided "as is" without any warranty, express or implied. we do not guarantee that rankings, stats, or match records are error-free — all data is user-submitted.

to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, play alta is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including, for example, disputes between players about match results.

nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by our negligence, as required by spanish and eu consumer law.

11. suspension & termination

we may suspend or permanently close your account if you violate these terms — particularly for submitting false match data, harassment of other users, or attempting to manipulate the leaderboard. we will try to give you notice unless doing so would put others at risk.

you may stop using play alta at any time and request account deletion by contacting us.

12. governing law

these terms are governed by the laws of spain. any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of barcelona, spain, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.

13. changes to these terms

we may update these terms as the service evolves. material changes will be flagged with a new "last updated" date. continued use of play alta after an update means you accept the revised terms.
